Can I join hypechat?

To be eligible to join hypechat – you must fit into one of the following two categories:

1) Youth from California – Ages 12 through 26

2) Youth from Other States – Ages 16 through 26

If you are under 12 in California, or under 16 anywhere else in the U.S., please do not sign up for membership. If you are older than 26 years of age, it is best if you seek an online community which can better address your sexual health information needs. For more specific eligibility questions, send us a message.

Why should I join hypechat?

When you join hypechat you get a safe place to discuss sexual health, ask those ‘embarrassing sex questions’ and get honest, factual answers about STIs and HIV/AIDS.

If you are HIV-, hypechat will give you the support and information you need to stay that way – AND still have fun!

If you are HIV+, hypechat will help you find services and support to stay healthy and keep those you love healthy too!

How do I join hypechat?

Just complete the registration form below and click the “Next” button. A password will be sent to the email address you provide.

All the information you provide will remain private. By answering the optional questions you will help us understand who is using hypechat so we can make it a better site for all of our members.

Be respectful- Of other people’s views, opinions and likes. Not everyone will like what you like and that’s what makes this site awesome. Come look at something new.

Be open-minded- Of new information on HIV and STDs that you might not have know before coming to our site. Be open-minded of other people. The stranger here today may be your best friend tomorrow.

Be here for yourself- Use our site’s resources for your personal education and information.

Be lawful- Don’t do anything to break a local, state, national law or any other law on our site. Do not post any public or private information about anyone else. If it’s not your business don’t share it.

Be free of advertising- Please do not post links to other sites or organization. We may be open to adding these sources to our site please just email our site administrator or use our ‘suggest a site’ form under the news and links section and we will see what we can do.

Be free of inappropriate content- What this mean?

Anything that is -

  • Obscene or pornographic.
  • Depicts graphic or gratuitous violence.
  • Threatening of any kind or that intimidates, harasses, or bullies anyone.
  • Derogatory, demeaning, malicious, defamatory, abusive, offensive, or hateful towards anyone period.
