Were you properly prepared when you lost your virginity?

Many youth today are unaware on how to properly protect themselves when having sex for the first time. How prepared were you when you first lost your virginity? Please explain.

I was not prepared. Mostly because I didn't know I was going to have sex. I thought I was just going to go next door with my mom's friend & eat ice cream, but she had other thing's in mind. I was young as hell too, that's my first sexual encounter.

Sh*t, I did not know a damn thing about safe sex. I just did the stuff I new, and tried some new stuff, which I have found in my adult life that I really love doing lol.

When I first started having sex, I was no where near prepared for what i was getting myself into. I just wanted to be able to say I had done it. Of course like many others, I told my partner that I had done it before so I wouldn't look "bootsie" or like I didn't know what I was doing. I used a condom that I had left in my wallet for a month or two at the time(big mistake), and it broke! After the fact I thought to myself, "I messed up, what should I do?" It felt like it was the right thing to do for the moment, but a few minutes of pleasure could be worth a life time of pain for me. After speaking with my brother, he told me a couple of different solutions to my problem, then it was all left up to me to me to do something about it. If I had the chance to do it over, I think I would have probably just waited.

a lot of times, parents teach their children what they know about sex... usually parents don't want to talk about it. Some parents avoid the topic all together not being mindful that they one day were in their childrens shoes and curious about SEX. I feel HYPE CHAT is so awesome, youth can log in, join and get their questions anwsered by young people that understand. Good job HYPE CHAT...

Some parents expect other people to teach their children about sex. I think it's a parents responsibility and not my teacher, neighbor or my pastor.
